Anna Maria Markarian

Anna is a PhD student within the Exercise Medicine Research Institute. Her research is investigating the effects of exercise medicine in childhood cancer survivors. The aim is to  enhance our understanding of the impact of cancer treatments on muscle and bone health in childhood cancer survivors and assess the efficacy of exercise in improving the musculoskeletal health of survivors of childhood cancer.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Physiology: American University of Beirut
  • Thesis Title: NEUROPROTECTIVE ROLE OF RESISTANCE TRAINING IN POSTTRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER ASSOCIATED WITH DIABETES
• Bachelor’s degree in biology: Haigazian University, Hamra.

Professional Memberships:

• Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
• International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) certified table tennis coach
