An outstanding Exercise Oncology meeting was held at The Exercise Medicine Research Institute (EMRI) in March 2026.
It was a privilege to bring together colleagues from EMRI and the University of Alberta (Canada) to share cutting‑edge science and clinical insights on the role of exercise across the cancer continuum.
We heard outstanding presentations spanning colon, gynaecological, pancreatic, prostate, paediatric, and breast cancers, with a strong focus on mechanisms, clinical translation, and patient impact. A particular highlight was EMRI hosting Prof. Kerry Courneya, who delivered a superb keynote on the CHALLENGE Study – a landmark trial published in NEJM demonstrating the power of exercise in colon cancer.
