Professor Rob Newton, fellow Exercise Medicine Institute staff members and recent research participants embraced the opportunity of sharing the Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia’s efforts to fund raise in Perth’s city centre recently. The BBQ event was well attended and with enjoyable activities surrounding this most worthwhile and necessary cause, with just under $12,000 raised. All funds raised contribute significantly towards prostate cancer research.  Other research activities conducted at the Institute continue to expand with current studies including improving sexual function through exercise in men with prostate cancer, improving the health of patients with deadly mesothelioma through exercise, and can exercise mitigate cognitive impairment in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
